CrowdStrike Falcon Platform
Date: March 2023 - May 2023
Institution: CrowdStrike University
Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia
While working at PGW, I was enrolled in CrowdStrike’s Falcon Platform training to deepen my understanding of enterprise-level endpoint protection and threat management. PGW had implemented the Falcon Platform as a core part of its security infrastructure, and I was selected to take the training to better support and administer the system internally. The course, delivered through CrowdStrike University, focused on hands-on administration of the Falcon Platform, covering everything from sensor deployment to configuring detection policies and managing alerts.
During the training, I learned how to effectively deploy and manage Falcon sensors across various operating systems, configure host groups, set role-based access, and tailor policy settings for optimal protection. I also gained a solid understanding of how to create and interpret alerts, manage indicators of compromise (IOCs), and use the Falcon dashboards for real-time monitoring and threat response. These skills allowed me to take a much more proactive approach to endpoint security, helping PGW reduce risk exposure and streamline our response to suspicious activity.
The course gave me a stronger grasp of modern threat landscapes and taught me how to leverage Falcon’s capabilities to improve overall network resilience. It was a valuable experience that significantly enhanced my cybersecurity toolkit and gave me practical skills I continue to use today.
